Most blob art paintings require lots of expensive materials, time and effort. The price reflects that as such. Price per square inch depends, anywhere from $1 per square inch to $2.50 per square inch. Single layer paintings fall into the lower price and multi-layered is on the higher end. Let’s take a 24″ x 24″ blob painting with many layers for example:
- Canvas $40-$60
- 10 Paint Colors $15-$20 each color = $200
- Varnish $27.50
- Mod Podge $30.00
- Sealer $20-$40
- Shipping packaging $20-$40
- Total for the above before labor and doesn’t include gesso, sandpaper, and cups = $337.50 – $397.50 in costs alone.
So if you are wondering why pricing is high, that’s why. 🙂
